English Writing Tips

Hi guys, it’s been a long time I didn’t write anything in this blog. So, I have some tips to improving your English skill. Let’s check it out J

English Writing Tips

Writing is one of the most critical English language skills. Many English learners struggle with writing error-free sentences. We have noticed some common mistakes made by learners. This is one of the most common errors made in written English. It’s important to choose the correct word from which agrees with the subject of the sentence. There are some errors in writing:
·        She want to drink a cup of tea. (incorrect)
She wants to drink a cup of tea. (correct)
·        I saw movie last night. (incorrect)
I saw a movie last night. (correct)
·        Hello, I’m kylie. (incorrect)
Hello, I’m Kylie. (correct)
·        The bus was stationery for a long time. (incorrect)
The bus was stationary for a long time. (correct)
·        She’s the beautifullest girl in the class. (incorrect)
She’s the most beautiful girl in the class. (correct)
·        This bag is your. (incorrect)
This bag is yours. (correct)
Here is a list of things to keep in mind while writing in English.

1. Write, write, write!
I think to improve your writing you really need to write something in English more or less every day. If you’re studying for an exam, you probably need to do more writing, perhaps writing the answer to an exam question at least twice a week.

2. Plan before you write
Prepare for writing by making a plan, and looking up all the words you need before you start writing.

3. Learn the correct version
When you find a mistake in your writing, it’s a good idea to learn the correct version by heart. Otherwise it’s easy to keep making the same mistakes.

4. Write as concisely as possible
Don’t make your sentence too long, as they might become difficult to read. Avoid more than two ideas in any sentence.

5. Edit what you write
Use your computer spell check, but check for grammatical mistakes yourself.

6. Read what you have written out loud
Is it easy to read, or are the sentences too long? Have you put in enough punctuation?

8. Get someone else to check what you have written
Another person may see something that is unclear or a mistake.

9. Take care when you’re writing
I often see writing that could be improved by taking care about very basic things. Easy ways to make your writing better include making sure that you’ve used capital letters and full stops when you need them and checking your spelling. Also, it’s not a good idea to use abbreviations like ‘u’ instead of ‘you’ (except possibly in very informal text messages if you are a teenager).
